Our Philosophy
Just as humble ingredients combine to create the famous Jordanian falafel, an exceptional person is formed from simple elements when they come together in the right way.
Before you learn the theory, ask yourself
How can you protect 360,000 children from the danger of road accidents?
How can you infect 325,000 Jordanian students with the entrepreneurship virus?
How can you repair 120,000 school chairs with minimal effort and cost?
How do you create a beautiful school environment in 100 schools with just 100 dinars each?
Where did the idea come from?
By watching falafel makers in restaurants, and how they can produce so many uniform falafel balls in the shortest time, with the simplest recipe, at minimal cost, yet with a delicious taste and flavor...
From this came the Falafel Theory: how can we achieve much with little for many, and quickly?

In 2007, the number of road accident victims in Jordan was approximately 3,800. Driven by responsibility, we decided the problem was an opportunity.

Drop in Accidents
We conducted a study and mapped the schools from which the most victims came. Within 18 months, 260 schools were completed as safe school zones using a cooperative, participatory approach.
The accident rate dropped by 63% in just 18 months.

How do you infect 325,000 students with the entrepreneurship virus? By planting a small company inside every school.

Dinars in Profit
650 small companies were established in public vocational schools; each company consists of 10 students supported by a symbolic amount to motivate them to produce and sell. Their profits exceeded 245,000 dinars in one year.
70% of profits were returned to improve the school environment they learn in.

Falafel is not just a meal — it is a mindset.
Simple in its origin, local in its ingredients, quick to prepare, and delicious enough for everyone to crave.

Chairs as Pilot
Carpentry students at industrial schools refurbished the damaged chairs for a symbolic fee, with raw materials provided by the school itself. The pilot succeeded on 1,000 chairs, then expanded to 120,000.
The project saved the equivalent of 4 million Jordanian dinars from the state treasury.

Participatory Decisions
Each school receives 100 dinars in partnership with private and public institutions to renovate its school environment through participatory decisions that bring together teachers, students, the local community, and the municipality.
When people own the decision, they make the change themselves.
